Lobby Day 2012
Posted on Thursday, January, 19, 2012

The next upcoming event is our Annual CSEA/AFSCME Lobby Day, which will be Tuesday, March 6. Please note that the deadline for RSVPs is Feb 20th. This is to allow us enough time to book lobbying meetings with legislators. We are starting with our usual stops, Buffalo and Rochester. (If we have enough interest, we can add stops along the way.) When sending me RSVP names, please include name, local/unit, and member's current address--this is to determine their Assembly and State Senate districts accurately and book their lobbying meetings. Members will be fully briefed on the buses about what to expect in Albany and given talking points on the budget. Please encourage as many members as possible to attend Lobby Day. It is a long day, but very rewarding when our members see the thousands of CSEA, DC37, and AFSCME members from all over the state, gathered together in common purpose. We have a tough budget fight this year, and Lobby Day is one way to fight back. But it only works when we get a lot of participation. Thank you in advance for all your help!
